This Women's Belted Wool Maxi Coat is cut from a double-faced brushed wool blend with no lining and no wrong side, so the same soft surface runs inside and out from the wide notch lapels to the clean-cut hem. The dropped shoulders and easy silhouette give it room for knitwear underneath without pulling across the back.
The double-breasted front fastens with mottled buttons arranged in two columns of three, and the slanted welt pockets at the hip keep the long, unlined coat streamlined rather than cluttered. A self-tie belt in the same double-faced cloth lets you wear it open and relaxed or drawn in at the waist, with no loops to thread it through.
Every edge, from the cuffs to the front opening to the mid-calf hem, is finished with a single fine topstitch line that is visible only if you look for it, and the flat topstitched sleeve seams continue that spare, considered approach. Layer it over a chunky turtleneck and slim pants, or let the double-faced cloth speak for itself over a fitted top and tall boots on a biting day.
