Knitted in a fine gauge with a soft matte surface, this women's cable knit cardigan runs narrow rope-twist cables in close vertical columns down both front panels and the full length of each sleeve. The silhouette is neat and fitted, with the hem sitting at the top of the hip rather than falling past it.
Seven matte four-hole buttons fasten in a single column from the ribbed crew neckband to the ribbed hem, so it closes up fully as a sweater or sits open over a shirt or blouse. The yarn is densely knitted with very little stretch, which keeps the whole cardigan flat enough to wear under a coat without adding bulk at the shoulders.
The fitted silhouette layers cleanly over high-waisted pants or sits beside a midi skirt and low ankle boots without competing with either piece. Button it to the collar over a fitted layer beneath, and the fine gauge knit reads as a layer rather than a top.
