Cut from smooth, light-catching velvet with a deep plunge wrap V neckline that crosses high at the chest, this women's dress follows the body closely from bust to knee before opening into a subtle flare at the hem. Diagonal ruched gathering runs from the wrap crossover across the bodice and continues along one side of the waist and hip, drawing the fabric in to shape a clean, close-fitting silhouette.
Set-in long sleeves fit through the arm to the wrist without a cuff detail, so the line stays uninterrupted from shoulder to hem. The ruching does the quiet work of pulling the eye through the waist, giving the silhouette definition without relying on structure or seaming to do it.
The velvet surface catches the light differently as it moves, which makes it a natural fit for evening events, holiday parties, and wedding receptions where the room is lit for it.
